I was born and brought up in Schwedt/ Oder, a small town in East Germany. After graduating from the Carl-Friedrich-Gauss-Gymnasium, I came to Berlin and started studying German, English and American Studies and Linguistics at the Humboldt University. Together with some friends of mine I initiated and organized the first WIP (Works-in-Progress) Symposium at the Institute for American Studies. Alongside working as a student assistent in a research project at the Institute for American Literature at Humboldt University I am developing my MA Thesis on concepts of vision and visuality in Annie Dillard`s Nonfiction.

- poetry of early 20th century: Jewish women writers
- concepts of vision and visuality implied in literary texts
- representation of Exile and Displacement in poetry and prose
