Kabria BaumgartnerCentre for British Studies, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
Kabria is a post-graduate student at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin's Centre for British Studies. At the Centre, Kabria focuses on British economic and legal systems as well as its political and cultural climate. Her graduate thesis will examine the economic success of the Royal Academy of Art Aztecs exhibition by analyzing political, cultural, and marketing incentives promoted by the Academy. Before coming to Humboldt Universität, Kabria studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a B.A. in English in 2003 and a M.A. in Afro-American Studies (English concentration) in 2005. Her research interests include race and ethnicity, cultural studies, visual culture, and African diaspora literature and culture (African American, Black British, Afro-German, and South African).
