Dr. Geneviève Susemihl
Universität Rostock

Born in Rostock, Germany, Geneviève Susemihl studied American Studies, Sociology and Educational Science at the University of Rostock, Connecticut College and Long Island University, United States. Her PhD-thesis explored the assimilation and integration of German-Jewish Hitler refugees in New York and Toronto. From 1998 to 2005 she has worked as an Assistant Professor at the English Department at the University of Rostock, teaching and researching in the fields of North American history, visual and popular culture and Native American and regional studies. Geneviève is a recipient of the John G.H. Halstead-Memorial Fellowship and other honours and an alumni of the Fulbright American Studies Summer Institute.
