Kathryn Murphy
University of Glasgow

Kathryn Murphy was born in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1979, and studied Czech and English Literature at the University of Glasgow and Masarykova Univerzita in Brno, the Czech Republic, graduating in 2003. Her M.A. thesis focussed on notions of encyclopaedia and taxonomy in English Renaissance prose. Further areas of interest include contemporary experimental poetry, Walter Benjamin and the Central European interwar avant-garde. In October 2004 she intends to take up postgraduate study in English Literature at the University of Oxford.
