The Bond Films
Thunderball (1965)
Bond Actor: Sean Connery
Directed by Terence Young
Music by John Barry
After the film universally regarded as the classic Bond, Thunderball not only reconfirmed the prototypical elements of a 007 movie but even deepened and solidified them, affirming that Goldfinger was to be no exception.
Sean Connery played a tough, seriously determined and almost sinister Bond, and he also truly got to be the main character. This film is not just with Bond or showing Bond, it is about Bond - the two songs, the vocal "Thunderball" and the instrumental version of the original title song, "Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", both constitute a serious reflection of the gentleman killer, of the bad-ass anti-hero who'd do anything for King and Country.
